The positions below represent the institutional positions held as of May 14th 2019!
📊 In the Markets: After compiling the latest set of data from the CFTC website I took an extra amount of time this weekend to put my thoughts together. What is evident is that there is a shift that is becoming more and more likely to take place. For instance, when you look at the data for the $audusd and the $nzdusd you will see that both short positions are aggressive and could easily begin to see some profit taking which would cause a reversal in price. As for the $audusd I’ve detailed how price can take out the weekly demand we are currently in and then we’d hit a daily demand which could cause price to reverse back up the chart.
Also when examining the #dollar pairs we can see that longs are and have been the aggressive position, so much so that some profit taking was expected and has started to happen. This momentum in positions being shifted can start taking on a life of its own and cause momentum to strongly shift on the charts. As with the $usdjpy we can see it’s shift in momentum to the downside and with higher timeframe forces pushing price downwards, this can easily be the start a much larger move lower. With respect to the $usdchf we can see longs are very aggressive and although price is at a weekly demand zone we could still see a push lower. Now market dynamics suggest that this weekly demand is sufficient to propel price back upwards but with the current state of positions and the likelihood of more profit taking coming our way I believe this is an ideal time to be out of these markets and on the sidelines.
There is definitely a lot of learning we can do in the next few months with respect to how positions and market dynamics will come into play and I intend to soak up every lesson I can possibly grasp. At the same time, I will be watching price closely to determine if there will be any future opportunities to get back into this market and profit once again from it. Very interesting times indeed.
