I remember when I ran the family cleaning business, at first I used to enjoy the work, to some extent, but then afterwards when I realized that sometimes in business, at least in that business, you don’t get much positive feedback. In the cleaning business, if you don’t get a call, it’s because everything is going well. The industry became fiercely competitive and people were doing anything to get business, under cutting, hiring illegals, paying cash under the table, bribes and all sorts of shenanigans. I soon started to feel like no matter how much work and effort I put into being the best cleaning service provider I could be, at the end of the day, it didn’t seem to be highly appreciated. It seemed, the clients I was dealing with became more and more interested in getting a cheaper provider, regardless of the moral implications. I resorted to cutting my profit margins to allow my staff to continue getting paid the same and to have the benefits that came along with that but at the end I suffered. I knew I needed to find a better way of life for me.
Then I found trading, I immediately fell in love with studying the charts and the mystery of discovering the real meaning behind price action. Luckily for me, I had a passion for it, I can’t explain it but I am fascinated with how price moves along the charts and how it follows a very complicated yet simple process of moving from point A to point B. My passion is what kept me working hard to discover its secrets, kept me working hard as I continually lost money with almost every trade I opened, kept me working when it seemed there was no light at the end of the tunnel, kept me working when it became difficult to support my family. There were many obstacles that tried to keep me from moving forward but I said to myself that I will never give up until I succeed no matter what I have to go through. So eventually, the markets gods said “ok, let’s give the guy a break, he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere!” and slowly things started to come together, but it took a lot of hard work, dedication and perseverance. All the things you’ve heard before, but it also takes guidance, you need to be guided in the right direction, otherwise your hard work will be for nothing.
